Here is a Veteran I am working on now.

I used the head from the Black Templars upgrade sprue, a body from the Masters of the Chapter set, and a regular chain sword arm from an assault squad. I am going to place a studded shoulder pad on the right shoulder. If you look closely, you can see my blending. I have been practicing the technique and get better at it with each Blood Angel I paint. I think he is pretty successful.

Just found your blog by way of Fritz...

Looking good, I've always been a fan of any "red" army becuase I know how troublesome they can be to paint. Your blending is coming along nicely and he is indeed "pretty successful" like you said. The helmet gives him a very distinct look.
A very nice model overall and definitely veteran looking.

Your 2nd Company Standard bearer and banner look great from what I can tell, it's nice to see some banners out there.

Thanks man! I'm not going to win, but I am going to submit a veteran squad into the gamesday baltimore competition. Please check back and feel free to offer as much input as you feel you want to. I will be posting mucho pics in the next few weeks. I have been painting a year and am open to any advice.
