Hey guys, what colors are used to paint Salamanders? Is it the Dark Angels Green, Snot Green, Goblin Green trio? I will be doing a How to Paint Salamanders series of videos, but I want to keep the color scheme simple like my Blood Angels.

Off the top of my head, I would suggest after a dark green basecoat, to do a heavy drybrush of Scorpion Green, then follow with Thraka Green wash or something like that.
Optional followup highlight of Scorpion Green after the wash, even.
replace "dark green basecoat" with Knarloc Green Foundation. I forgot that the Salamanders tend to the brighter greens. Knarloc would make a good base.
Crap. I already hit him with Orkhide shade, and am unhappy with it. So I washed it with Thraka, and am going to attempt to warm it up with Snot and Goblin. I dont have any scorpion. Perhaps I will bust out some of those Black Reach marines and try the Knarlokc and get some scorpion too. Thanks man!
Orkhide could work too. I think the main thing I'd suggest is to have the wash be step 3. Orkhide or Knarloc, Heavy drybrush of Scorpion, then Thraka wash. Optional step 4 highlight of Scorpion.
I've been doing a similar process with my Dark Angels. Base in DA green, heavy drybrush of Knarloc, Wash of Badab Black, re-highlight with Knarloc. It's been working extremely well. The wash in step 3 after painting with 2 tones blends them together remarkably well. Usually I'm left with only coming in with an armor-edge highlight of the second tone for it to look awesome.
As a Salamander player since Armageddon, it's snot green over a black base. You then edge with a lighter green. Usually black or yellow as trill like on the spauldrons.
I actually use a bit more black than "by book," specifically on the thighs, upper arms, and face plates. Used to be the squad number was on the left knee, but since not all models have knee pieces, this is a problem. I never did it and now it looks like it's gone.
maybe do snot green over black. then thrakka green wash then highlight with goblin and extreme highlight with scorpian. i dont know. it might work. it seems similar to the way you did your bloodangels. or maybe even prime white to get a lighter effect.
All great suggestions. What I found worked nicest was Darksols, white primer, Knarloc Green Foundation, Thraka Green Wash. I dont have Scorpian so I used Snot and Goblin green like I did the Blazing and Firey orange for my BAs. I did some blending here and there, the model looks pretty nice. I will be posting vids soon. Thanks for the input all!
hey jawaballs. kaoticmachine from youtube here. i tend to basecoat black the goblin green on all armour the really watered down (so it just darkens and most paint runs into cracks) dark angles green highlighting with goblin/snot green. looks good to me. im trying to make some different due to salamanders being from 7 different colonys on nocturn. hope that helped
