Assualt squads are troops in BA? i might run a Raven guard force with the Blood angles codex, it means i don't have to buy the codex! wait... I've already got it.
Anyway, I wish you good luck with the list and hope it brings you many Jawa-wins or Jawins?

How is it different to the previous one?

This list is a little different. I added a rhino with storm bolter to my tactical squad, and dropped the bike and speeder. I added a fist and power swords to my squads too. I posted this to make it easier for people to find.

So you do move your rhino around, or do you use it as a back up for the death company? I thought the Tac Squad just sat on your home objective....

Lord. Good questions. Adding the Rhino to my tac gives me a lot of options. First, I can just sit all 10 of them in the rhino, hopefully in cover, and still fire it's lascannon. OR, if I have to, I can move it up to an objective, then do the same for the rest of the game. But now I have more options. I can Combat squad the tacs, leave 5 with the las in cover, and send the rhino out with the other 5 with the Melta gun and power weapon. What I have now is a vehicle that can move 12" and fire 4 storm bolter shots, move 6" and fire 4 storm bolter, 1 rapid fire bolter, and 1 meltagun, OR move 18" and get into position to hold an objective. I can move it up to another objective, drop off the troops to claim it, then move the Rhino up to contest or tank shock yet another objective. The rhino gives me a good chance to claim or contest 3 objectives.

In kill point missions, I would keep it back, out of sight if possible, if not, put all the marines in front of it to give it a cover save.

The rhino is a new element in my list and I have not really had a chance to play test it, but in the one game I did use it, it contested an objective, and the squad with the meltagun killed an Ironclad then held up an enemy tactical squad that was trying to contest my base.

And never discount the 2 storm bolters. 4 shots are nice little harrassment shots, and you never know... may just be enough to take down that last pesky terminator with a lucky shot.

Adding the rhino meant dropping my attack bike, but I thought it was a much more efficient use of those points. The AB would come on the table, and usually fail to do any thing, then get shot up next turn. It almost never got off more then one shot. It was a deterrent if any thing... which sometimes worked against me. It kept enemy armor at bay which is not necessarily what I wanted... I want them to unsuspectingly move into range for Dante to jump up and pop them with his melta gun. The fear of the attack bike sometimes slowed that down.

That is why I dropped both of my fast moving melta guns. I still have melta power, it is just more hidden. :)

Yeah, Jawa,

I think tacs in rhinos with melta weapons are more effective than attack bikes or speeders, because they can still contest objectives, etc.

When I got my ass totally handed to me at a few games recently, everyone was telling me to get bikes or speeders for the multi-meltas, but I was like...That stuff just dies, I'll just put meltas in all my tac squads.

We'll see...I have a tourney in a couple days.

Hey Jawaballs,

In here you say you added a powerfist, but I don't see it in the list - just three powerswords. Did you keep your list full of just powerswords, or did you add a fist to one of the assault squads?

Hey Jawa, I've been reading your blogs for a while now very nice 2 thumbs.

You're 1750 Mechanized list is a great idea,

I run a list close in proximity to yours but, instead of smaller sqds. with tanks it's full sqds. with the jump packs, I find it works better than the smaller groups, I run into very few problems I use two 10-man tac sqds. as fire support also and attack bikes with meltas

HQ and Elites are kinda the same, I take 1 venerable DC furioso

The attack bikes are invaluble to my list fast small hard to target units It's a seriously agressive army which is probably where the differences lie

Why do I come up with 1855 for the points total on this list? Did I miss something in the codex somewhere?

Nevermind, 10 seconds after I post the question I find the answer.

Hey Jawaballs, what would you add or change if you had to make a 1850 point list?

I will be doing just that for a tournament in November. I think I am going to drop an assault squad and add a jacked out honor guard. Just because I got it painted and it made finalist for Golden Daemon! I want to go try to win Best Painted. :) Though, for 100 points, I think the best buy would be another Furioso Dread.
