Looks like its just some 12 year old moron with no life.

Judging by how stupid he makes himself sound I doubt he has the brain power to even work a video camera.

I love it, hahahaha

Wow. Where was natural selection on that well bred individual's blood line?

I bet you are shivering at the thought of such well educated, thoughtful, and business like competition?

Jawaballs said...

Quite. What he is going to find out is that there is a difference between painting a model in front of a camera and making a successful tutorial. Hell, if it were not for my fiance adding comic relief to some of my videos, they would probably suck! I will gladly give him pointers. Or loan him my fiance. I am honestly a little flattered.

ha he has spelt your name wrong too fail.

keep up the good work by the way

HuronBH said...

You should be flattered. Means you have made a mark and people want to compete with you. Sounds like whatever country that guy is from he needs to work on his english some more. I am fairly sure he is from outside the US as he calls you an American Fag at the end.

Anyways, best of luck to him, your videos are pretty good.

Geez, what is it about you, Fritz, and Matt that has the freaks coming out of the woodwork lately?

For that matter, where did the trolls on BoLS come from all of a sudden?

Jawaballs said...

Whats worse is that one of those trolls is one of our own club battle brothers! Not sure whats going on there...

I do have to say though, that Fritz and I have been blowing some pretty strong opinion and smoke out of our asses lately. Fritz with his arrogant Eldar tactics, and me with my smack talk brewing hype for BoLScon and our showdowns with Jwolf. I touched on it before, some people just cannot differentiate between good hearted fun and malicious intent. I have only the former in my heart...

(Who would actually believe that I think I am the best player in the northeast... let alone call me out on it over another blogs comment section...oh wait...)

Brilliant, I'm sure he/she will grow out of it one day but in the mean time I think we should all point and laugh! ;)

Fighting on the internet... you know the rest. It's just an auto-fail. In fact, I think that Penny Arcade said it best in this comic:

http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2004/03/19/

A question with more point to it. What kinda of quality is your tutorials recorded in and what quality would I get them in if I bought them? Quality as in technical voodoo stuff. Because dear youtube ain't no hit in the quality department.

Btw, you should get two cameras, one zoomed into the model and another one zoomed out so we see you and the model and all that jazz. Then have the zoomed in one in a little "window" on top of the main image, like in a corner or so. After all, the entertainment values are what we like :)

Jawaballs said...

The ones on youtube are samples from the actual sets. However, I shoot them with my high definition camera. So the ones bought are a bit better quality then on youtube. Two cams? Something to consider!

As for fighting on internet... You nailed it. I think that Fritz is the one who told me that every one loses a flame war. That is why I normally stay classy and avoid flaming, and that is why I sincerely wish this dude luck! I have gotten a lot of satisfaction out of posting stuff on youtube for the fans. I hope he does too!

It is quite funny, actually. Jealousy is a high form of compliment.

I want to thank you for everything that you do for the hobby.

Honestly, I find You, Fritz, and Black Matt all to be entertaining, educational, and competitive. Best of all, you achieve this while maintaining "good-spirited" competition.

I have learned tons from all of you, and I consider all three of you to be ambassadors for 40k the way that it should be played (mutually fun for both at the table).

Flekkzo said...

That it is both classy and entertain is what brings me back. That I actually *play* 40k now is just a bonus :)

Speaking of bonuses. Any news about any, ehm, blood angels related competitions? I have thought about buying your BA vids for such an occasion :) I have a project:)

And regarding two cams, that geeky Eldar friend of yours might be able to help:) (DISCLAIMER: I am just being funny, Fritz is a stand up Eldar whose tricks are just entertaining)

One minor critique:

I'm given to understand that all karma is bad, and one builds up karma through negative actions. So, really, you're not turning it into good karma, you're dissipating your karmic burden.

At least, that's what I'm given to understand.

Beyond that...it's the interweb, and Penny Arcade pretty much said it.

I mean, it's one thing to criticize and back up why you think your suggestions have merit; it's another to just make a personal attack. Good job, person can do something that they might not have the cojones to do to your face. Big man, and all that ramble.

Wow, this guy is a gentleman AND a scholar. What expert use of the English Language and incredible appreciation for his fellow man. Surely, you must feel cowed to be called upon by such an incredible sub-human being.

TheKing Elessar said...

He could be Australian.

Anyway, that was a pretty funny read.

As for being alluded to as a troll - I said nothing negative about either Jawaballs or Fritz, and nothing I wouldn't say to their faces, if not for the fact that I live in another continent and all.

In fact, I said nothing but positive things about Jawaballs in particular - I think he's a better painter than I'll ever be, as well.

Rusty said...

Man oh man, this guy is going to come in and just turn your whole business model around with his FREE youtube videos!? Seriously Jawaballs, I am all for diversity in the field but I wouldn't take it with much credence, you do some solid work and as any of us who have ever tried to explain hwo we do what we do knows, it is a lot simpler to know and do than to have to analyze and teach.

Jawaballs said...

For the record, I suspected this kid as simply looking for some instant fame, but regardless, it was too ripe not to share!

Flekkzo said...

It's just pure attention seeking. Let's not stoop to their level with name calling and whatnot. Take it for what it is, internet poetry.

His name is JordanNeo1, so he named himself after a British Stripper, Keanu Reeves and he wasn't even the first to use this horrible name hence the 1 LOL. He failed before he even started.

The double camera idea sounds good! Part of what we never see even in the tutorials that the big names make (Not that J-Ballz isn't a big name, I mean seriously...with a name like that it's practically a given!) is how the artist is holding their hands, bracing their wrists/elbows, how often they are rinsing their brush, re-pointing it, drawing excess paint out on a papertowel, going back to their palette/paintpot to reload, if they pick their nose etc. We only get the zoomed in version and miss a lot off camera that is important to see as well. The picture-in-a-picture thing of a small wider shot in the corner is something that might be helpful.

As for angry pre-teen. Good for him for trying to do a project like making tutorials and having the thought it out to some degree. But definite douche-points for how he announced his plan for world domination. But probably got angry when his parents wouldn't allow him to use their credit card to buy one of your tutorials Jawaballs, and just taking it out on you so he doesn't get grounded. At least you probably motivated him!
